GIPSY ENGINES – GENERAL CIRCULATIONSUB HEADING 43 – VALVES AND VALVE GEAR
MODIFICATION OF G.1158
In order to obviate overtightening to accommodate the split pin and consequent failure of rocker bracket bolts, the existing castellated nuts are replaced by a triangular lock plate. In addition, bolts in improved material, namely D.T.D.551, are introduced.
Since this Modificatiopn is cancelled by Modification G.1448 (see Modification News Sheet) no further details are considered necessary.
NOTE: Technical News Sheets G.31, G.53 and G.44 which were transferred to the Modification Folder under cover of Gipsy Amendment Number 7 to Technical News Sheet G.E.5 may now be removed from the folder and destroyed.
